New record being lost on lock

When I add a new record, sometimes I don't hit the Save button before my app locks. Then, when I re-enter my master password to unlock the app, my new record is no longer there.I would expect the lock screen to take me right back to where I was editing a record. I have lost several newly created passwords this way.

Hi Troy, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback regarding the record creation process. I want to clarify that the app is currently designed to prioritize security by clearing unsaved data when the app lock is triggered. Because the app lock is a security layer independent of your phone’s system screen lock, it resets the session to the login state, ensuring your information remains protected. To ensure your changes are persisted, please make sure to tap the Save button before navigating away or allowing the app to lock. I have shared your experience with our product team as we look for ways to improve the user experience while maintaining our high security standards. Best regards, Abhinav SplashData Team

Thanks Abhinav. I understand that you're leaning towards security, and I guess I'll have to learn to be quicker on the Save button. My workflow with the app is that I am usually doing something on my browser that requires me to create a new account. I will switch over to the app, start a new record, and generate the password for the new account I'm trying to create. Then I'll copy/paste the password back into by browser to finish the account creation process. If I take too long finishing the new account in my browser, then the app has locked before I get back to it, and I lose the new password that I just created. Obviously, I can learn to hit Save sooner, but I wanted you all to know what my experience has been like. I've been a SplashID user for many, many years now, and I like the app. Thanks for sharing my feedback with the product team. --Troy

Hi Troy, Thank you for being such a long-term member of the SplashID community and for your understanding regarding our security design. We truly appreciate your loyalty over the years. Given your specific workflow of switching between the browser and the app, there is a setting that can help prevent those accidental lockouts. You can increase the Auto-lock duration by navigating to Settings > Security. By extending this timer, you'll have more time to complete your account creation in the browser before the app resets, ensuring your generated passwords stay active until you can hit Save. Thank you again for the feedback—it helps us understand how to better balance security with real-world use. Best regards, Abhinav SplashData Team
